Two Important Things For Muslim When Driving
Vehicles, both classics, such as, horses, carts, buggy or modern, motorcycle, car, boat, or train is a gift of Allah Ta'ala. Faith is what distinguishes we from other vehicle riders. Our faith on this vehicle, it can be proven by two points:
1. Pledge by Lisan
Our lisan or called verbal interpreter for our heart's content. Beliefs and feelings of the heart, such as love, hate, and sadly, usually we express through with verbal.
Naturally, when Islam teaches us express our faith on vehicle is with verbal utterance. Allah says:
والذي خلق الأزواج كلها وجعل لكم من الفلك والأنعام ما تركبون. لتستووا على ظهوره ثم تذكروا نعمة ربكم إذا استويتم عليه وتقولوا سبحان الذي سخر لنا هذا وما كنا له مقرنين. وإنا إلى ربنا لمنقلبون
"And Who has created all the pairs and appointed for you ships and cattle that you ride. So you sit on his back and then you remember the favors of your Lord when you been sitting on it, and so you say: "Glory to God Who has subjected this to us, whereas we previously there were none to master it, and indeed, we will return to our Lord. "(QS. Az Zukhruf / 43: 12-14)
Our verbal utterance is part of an expression of gratitude favors. Thus, these verbal utterance although light and easy but has a very important meaning, that distinguishes us from the people of kufr and disbelieve the favor of Allah.
أولم يروا أنا خلقنا لهم مما عملت أيدينا أنعاما فهم لها مالكون. وذللناها لهم فمنها ركوبهم ومنها يأكلون. ولهم فيها منافع ومشارب أفلا يشكرون
"Do they not see that We have created cattle for them, that is some of what We have created by Our own handiwork, and they have it. And We subjected the animals to their interests, then some they ride and some they eat. Him they acquire a variety of benefits and drinks. So why do they not give thanks. "(QS. Yaseen / 36: 71-73).
Because it was formerly the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam when driving a vehicle, he pointed us to say:
سبحان الذى سخر لنا هذا وما كنا له مقرنين وإنا إلى ربنا لمنقلبون, ثم قال: الحمد لله. ثلاث مرات. ثم قال: الله أكبر. ثلاث مرات ثم قال: سبحانك إنى ظلمت نفسى فاغفر لى فإنه لا يغفر الذنوب إلا أنت
"Most holy God Who has subjected these to our vehicle, whereas previously we were not master it, and we will surely return to our Lord. Then he says: Alhamdulillah 3 x, followed by Allahu Akbar (Takbir) 3 x, and closed with the words: "Glory to Thee, I really have a lot menzhalimi myself, so forgive your servant, because in fact nothing is the power to forgive sins but you. "(Reported by Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi)
2. Using the Vehicle In Good Affairs
Because the vehicle is our favor, then it is appropriate when we are using it for business that God approves. Eligible if we use God's pleasure run insubordination to him?
لا تزول قدما عبد يوم القيامة حتى يسأل ... وعن ماله من أين اكتسبه وفيم أنفقه
"Later in the day kiyamat, both feet each slave will not shift to be held responsible on ...... and property, from where he acquired it and where he spend it." (Reported by At Tirmizy)
