Why We Must Search Islam Knowledge
1. bring light in life
Broadly speaking, Ibn al -Qayyim rahimahullah explains as follows.
Knowledge is hayatun (life) and nurun (light). Meanwhile, ignorance is mawtun (death) and zhulmatun (darkness). Evil is because of the absence of life and light, while goodness is because of the absence of light and life.
Allah Ta’ala says,
“Allah is the Protector of the believers; He brought them out of darkness (disbelief) into light (faith). And those who disbelieve, their protectors are the devils, who bring them out of light into darkness (disbelief). Those are the dwellers of the Fire; they abide in it. ” (QS. Al-Baqarah: 257)
“Allah (Giver) of light (to) the heavens and the earth. The parable of the light of God, is like an impenetrable hole, in which there is a great lamp. The lamp is in the glass (and) the glass is like a star (which shines) like pearls, lit with oil from the blessed tree, (that is) the olive tree which grows neither in the east (something) nor in the west. (her), whose oil (alone) almost illuminates, though not touched by fire. Light upon light (layered), Allah guides to His light whom He wills, and Allah sets forth parables for mankind, and Allah is Aware of all things. ” (QS. An-Nuur: 35)
2. Understanding the Qur'an as a source of Life Guidance
Ibn al-Qayyim rahimahullah said, "The light above the light in question is the light of the Qur'an above the light of faith." (Miftah Daar As-Sa'adah, 1: 231)
From Abu Musa Al Asy’ariy radhiyallahu ‘anhu, Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam said
"The example of a person who reads the Qur'an and practices it is like the fruit of utrujah, it tastes and smells good. Believers who do not read the Qur’an and practice it are like dates, they taste good but are not fragrant. The hypocrite who reads the Qur’an is like royhanah, it smells pleasant, but it tastes bitter. And the hypocrites who do not read the Qur’an are like hanzholah, their taste and smell are bitter and unpleasant. ” (HR. Bukhari, no. 5059)
Utrujah smells good, if you feel the fruit is delicious.
There are four kinds of humans:
Ahlul Iman and Ahlul Qur’an, they are the best of human beings.
Ahlul Iman, but do not read the Qur'an.
These two groups are still the group of as-su'adaa '(happy)
Those who are given the Qur’an, but are not given faith, that is the hypocrite.
Which is not given by the Qur'an or faith.
The Qur’an and faith are the light that Allah puts in the hearts of whomever Allah wills. The Qur’an and this faith are the basis of goodness in this world and the hereafter. The science of the Qur’an and faith is the most noble and main science. In fact, there is no science that benefits other than the science of the Qur'an and faith. (Miftah Daar As-Sa'adah, 1: 233)
